Comedy is a fine art... i think this guy has mastered its ways:

Fred Simmons (Danny McBride) plays the naive and lackluster martial artist from Concord, North Carolina just off of Rt. 85. He is the self proclaimed "king of the demo" and on his appearance on Conan O'Brien last week, you can see why.

I urge you to find out more about this film by going to the links below and then going to your local theater and on April 11th and watching this gem.

Oh M. Night. Shyamalan, what are you up to now?

Mark Wahlberg, John Leguizamo and Zooey Deschanel are all confused and have no idea what is happening. After watching this trailer, neither do I, but I will be sure to find out.

In the passing of Heath Ledger, the actors Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Collin Farrell will be finishing out the film by taking on his role in the unfinished film Terry Gilliam’s The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

In the film, Ledger’s character reportedly falls through a “magical mirror” into an alternate reality, and thus the caveat of these three actors’ interpretations is further supported. But even sans that plot point, this could turn out to be a quite inspiring and tasteful send off to the young actor.

If you happen to be in Texas or find yourself in Texas for the arts and consumerism menagerie that is the SXSW event, then add this to your already expanding list of things to part take in. Get yourself a film pass, if you don't have access, and view the following films in their entirety as they are being featured in this years festivities.

Crispin Glover, awkward man and actor/director in great films such as Willard. He rose to notoriety after his role as Gearge McFly in Back To The Future, but was heralded by an underground fan base for his confusing alter-persona from one of his films after he appeared in the Letterman show in the late 80's and nearly kicked David Letterman's head off. Letterman got pissed and kicked him off the show.

I decree that there should be a day where we stop and admire the genius that is Crispin Glover.

If you travel just a little bit north and a little bit east of Youngstown you will find yourself in Erie, Pennsylvania. The area has played host to a little festival that has grown by leaps and bounds every years it has been held thus far. And again, this year is no different than last in this respect, they are holding open calls for submissions from small time would-be talent like you or me. Below is a regurgitation of their blast.

The 2008 Eerie Horror Film Festival, Video Game and Screenplay Competition has officially opened its call for entries and is currently seeking submissions from all over the world!

Since 2004 the Eerie Horror Film Festival has screened over 200 films and has featured appearances by Jason Mewes (Clerks), Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog), Dee Wallace Stone (Cujo), Tony Todd (Candyman), Tom Savini (From Dusk Till Dawn), PJ Soles (Halloween), Gunnar Hansen (Texas Chainsaw Massacre '74), Lloyd Kaufman (Troma) and many, many more!

At 3:31 p.m., a masseuse arrived at Apartment 5A in the building for an appointment with Mr. Ledger, the police said. The masseuse was let in to the home by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of Mr. Ledger’s bedroom. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Mr. Ledger unconscious. They shook him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities. The police said they did not suspect foul play and said they found pills near body. -NY TIMES

Browsing the the syndicated world of bloggers I was reminded about this film that I almost forgot about.

This kinda falls into two categories. I wasn't made aware of this film until recently nor I have I personally have seen this film yet. I've only read about here and there, but being a very sensory orient person, the music, the photography and the characters (both real and the dramatized) fascinate me and have engaged me like all good art usually does.

Also, this film is hitting the store shelves soon if I am not mistaken.
